The Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) was established by the Catholic Education Commission (CEC) on behalf of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland.
SCES is the operational arm of the CEC which sets national policy on all educational matters on behalf of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Scotland.
While each Bishop is responsible for setting education policy to suit Diocesan needs within the local context, there are broad issues of national significance on which all the Dioceses agree general policy principles, as advised by the CEC. SCES works within the parameters of these national issues to offer support to schools, parishes and Dioceses.
