Pope urges parents and teachers to pay attention to young people

Pope Benedict XVI, in his message for the 45th International Day of Peace, which will be celebrated on 1st January 2012, encouraged young people to offer new hope to the world. He called for parents, as the first educators of their children, to train them in justice and peace and not to grow disheartened in today's world which is often incompatible with family life. He called on political leaders to support parents and teachers in their roles of educating the young so that they can receive an education that does not conflict with their consciences and their religious principles.
