Michael McGrath writes to teachers who have recently qualified and have not yet been appointed to teaching posts:
Dear Colleague,
I recognise that, at this time, there are still insufficient vacancies for teacher in many parts of Scotland. If this situation is affecting you, I hope that it will not be too long until you find an appointment which suits your circumstances.
In the meantime, you might be interested in keeping in contact with the Catholic education community in Scotland, as a means of sustaining and developing your professional awareness and interest. To that end, I invite you to contact us and provide us with a few details which will enable us to keep in contact with you.
While the Scottish Catholic Education Service does not employ teachers, we do provide CPD courses and teaching resources for Catholic schools, and our website (www.sces.uk.com) is a source of information, news and support to teachers. As a gesture of solidarity, we would be happy to provide you with the following support free of charge for the rest of this school session:
• access to that part of our website which is normally restricted to subscribers ;
• signed-up membership of our newsletter circulation list;
• entry to a CPD event organised by SCES.
I hope that this offer will be of interest to you and that it may help you to stay connected to the Catholic education community in Scotland. Please enter your details on this form and email it to mail@sces.uk.com .
In the meantime I offer you my personal best wishes for the future.
Your sincerely,
Michael McGrath
Director
