Bellahouston Pilgrim Guide

On the Papal Visit website, some very useful information has been provided for pilgrims participating in the Papal Mass at Bellahouston Park. The attached document usefully suggests what to bring and what not to bring to the Mass.
While these details will be provided within the Pilgrim Pack which will be provided later to each pilgrim, it might be useful for teachers to review them now as they are preparing advice for pupils and parents.
You can download the guide using the attachment below or you can link directly to the Papal Visit website, using the link listed below.
It is wonderful news that approximately 7,000 invitations have now been allocated to pilgrims from secondary schools across Scotland. Sufficient pilgrims packs will be delivered to each school in the days preceding the Pope's arrival. Where schools have requested transport, details have now been provided to the national organisers who will contact schools directly to confirm times of departure etc.
Some schools have enquired about taking banners to the Mass to display their school name, crest etc. The advice contained in the Pilgrim Guide is that banners can be taken into the park but care should be taken to avoid obstructing anyone's view.
The organisers are encouraging all adult pilgrims to bring photographic I.D. to ease security checks. The normal school I.D. badge should suffice for this purpose. Each Pilgrim Group Leader should also have provided a passport photo when returning their completed Pilgrim Group Leader form. These details will have been registered with the organisers for security purposes.
