Education Commission

cec.jpgThe Catholic Education Commission (CEC) was formally constituted in 1972, with Bishop Francis Thomson as the Episcopal President, James Breen as Chairman and John McKee as Secretary and Education Officer to the Hierarchy.  Its function is to advise and assist the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Scotland on all matters pertaining to education and, on its behalf, to promote development in this field.

Membership of the Commission is refreshed every 3 years, with each new Commission defining its own priorities in the form of an action plan.  The work of the 13th Commission covers the period November 2008 to June 2011.  Membership of the 13th Commission, with representatives from each Diocese and other key stakeholders, is listed below
